Forgot a Word in English? Try This!
Have you ever been speaking English and suddenly forgotten one simple word?
You know what you want to say, but the English word just disappears.
Don’t panic. One forgotten word does not have to end the conversation.

Then describe the thing using simple English.
You can talk about:

For example, if you forget the word “button,” you can say:
“I forgot the word, but it’s small. You find it on shirts. It keeps your shirt closed.”
The other person may understand you even before you remember the word.
One Important Rule
If someone doesn’t understand you, don’t simply repeat the same sentence louder.
Add another clue.
A clearer clue can help the other person understand what you mean.
