b. Do you use your phone for sending and receiving text messages?
c. Are you using the same grammar and language when writing an email to your teacher or a text message to a friend?

নিচে প্রধান শিক্ষক মিসেস গুলশান এর কাছে লেখা আরশির ই-মেইলটি পড়ো।
Arshi is in Class VI. She’s always on time and never misses class. But today she can’t go to school as her mother is sick. She’s lying in bed with fever. She’s not sure what to do. In the end, she informs the headteacher about her mother’s illness and requests leave for herself.
Here is what she has written:
Hello Madam,
Assalamu Alaikum.My name is Arshi and I belong to Class VI.. My mother is unwell. My father is abroad for work. I’m alone. Nobody is around to help us.A doctor came to see my mother yesterday. He told me something that made me scared. He said she looked like she had Covid and asked me to wear my mask and stay away from my mom. But who will give her medicine? Who will pour water on her forehead when it is too hot? Who will feed her? Our neighbours are afraid. Our relatives live far away.I’m confused and can’t think clearly.
I miss my classes. I miss my friends. Please forgive me, Madam.

Note:
Greetings:
Greetings are words we use at the start of letters or emails to say hello to someone. It is also known as a salutation. For instance, if you are writing to your friend, you can say hello to them. Dear, dear, hello to them. Hey there to them. If you are writing to a teacher, you can say Hello to them. You can say Hello to your teacher. You can also say Hello to your madame/sir. So, what kind of greetings do you use depends on the relationship between you and the person you are writing to.
Body:
The ‘Body’ is the content of the letter or email. The content of the body should be straightforward, clear, and straightforward. The body can be written in formal or informal language. Again, this depends on your relationship with the recipients.
Closing remarks:Closing Remarks are terms used to end a letter/email message. It’s a polite way of saying goodbye. We write our closing remarks right after our name. The most common closing Remarks are:“I sincerely hope you are doing well.”“I wish you the best of luck.”Similar to Greeting and Body Remarks, which Closing Remarks to use depends on the relationship between you and your recipients.

Now in pairs/groups read Arshi’s email again and underline all the informal words and expressions she used. Then, rephrase the email with the proper welcome, end-of-speech, and body language.

Now, in groups/pairs, write an invitation letter to participate in a book fair/science fair, or Boishakhi fair that your school is going to organise or you can Choose any subject matter. First, select an email, an informal letter or a formal letter to write the invitation letter. And then, decide who will be the receiver.In writing, the focus should be on the topic, receiver, greeting, and closing remarks.
