A list of Regular Verbs
Regular verbs are a type of verb in English that follow a predictable pattern of conjugation. To form the past tense and past participle of regular verbs, you simply add “-ed” to the base form of the verb.A list of Regular Verbs. For example, the regular verb “walk” has the following conjugations:
- Present tense: I walk, you walk, he/she/it walks, we walk, they walk
- Past tense: I walked, you walked, he/she/it walked, we walked, they walked
- Past participle: walked
The same pattern applies to many other regular verbs, such as “talk”, “play”, “love”, and “watch”. However, there are also many irregular verbs in English that do not follow this pattern and must be memorized individually.

In Bengali, regular verbs follow a similar pattern to English in that they can be conjugated using a predictable set of rules. Like in English, regular verbs in Bengali have a base form, and to form the past tense and past participle, the verb is usually modified with a suffix.
For example, the Bengali verb “khela” (to play) can be conjugated as follows:
- Present tense: আমি খেলি (ami kheli), তুমি খেলো (tumi khelo), সে খেলে (she khelê), আমরা খেলি (amra kheli), তোমরা খেলো (tomra khelo), তারা খেলে (tara khelê)
- Past tense: আমি খেললাম (ami khelôlam), তুমি খেললে (tumi khelle), সে খেলল (she khello), আমরা খেললাম (amra khelôlam), তোমরা খেললে (tomra khelle), তারা খেলল (tara khello)
- Past participle: খেলা (khela)
It’s important to note, however, that there are many irregular verbs in Bengali that do not follow this pattern and must be memorized individually, just like in English.
